The most noticeable changes for me:
1) typing is more reliable
2) camera is now useable (not that i ever use a camera phone, but now it actually works if needed)
3) switching from portrait to landscape and vice versa is quicker
4) switching between apps is quicker
5) editing text is easier with the new slide box
6) you can use a full keyboard in portrait now
