Could it be something interfering with a signal causing the CA system to get confused? You mentioned a cell phone... I don't know... it's just that I have not been able to lock myself out even on purpose, even with the keys on the floor in front of the back seat. I'll have to try the trunk one though... (of course it will close but will it open while the key is inside)...
