I'm usually in Vegas every other month for something or other... IMHO, Vegas started slowing down a long time ago, dating back to 2007. It's especially noticeable on the weekdays. There's a lot less people on the streets and in the casinos. But Fridays and Saturdays are still high traffic days as it should be.

Note to mD. If you ever make it to Vegas again, mark down Mesquite, NV on your itinerary. There's a couple of gorgeous desert golf courses out there that will make your trip worthwhile.
