So I arrive at the Dealership this morning at 9:30am to pickup my new X5. Just 3 short hours later (ahem) the detail crew has finished my vehicle that was due at 10am. They had 3-days to detail my ride, so the fact they were so late was irritating. Of course once I saw it gleaming in the sun, I quickly got over my dissatisfaction... UNTIL!
The delivery training is over, and we're off to the pump to fill up my X with some diesel. The first gas station has none ... which amused me as I knew I'd run into that from time to time. So we drive down the road, and fill up a the next Shell station. While I'm outside waiting for me salesman to pay for the fuel, a Fuel Pump warning comes up on the iDrive display. I'm thinking it's a pressure issue, maybe we just need to reseat the gas cap. Well ... 4-hours later it turns out they still aren't sure what it is.
So my X sits in the repair bay undelivered. I'll have to wait until Monday for the regular service crew to come in, and hook the vehicle up to the BMW mother ship to diagnose what's going on.
I can't help but wonder if this is a sign of things to come with the diesel. This isn't exactly new technology, so hopefully it's just "one of those things"... This is my first BMW ... I've been waiting 39-years for this day, so what's 2 more I guess.
