Every is saying that the post Aug. 08 lights are impossible to crack open. It looks as if the previous owner replaced the right headlight, unless the left one has just gotten hit with that much more road grime. I haven't pulled them off to look at the date yet.

My question is, why can't I just dremel or saw it open at the glue, install the rings and either use new glue to seal them back up or plastic weld them back together. It seems opening them like that would work just fine.

is there some other reason that no one has done this?
