For the stink it is usually caused by mold/milder/bacteria on the evaporator as it is alwasy wet while in use fron condensation. There are some products available that are like a lysol bug bomb to kill that, and that works great. As fr the cooling problem you need to have the pressures read and analyzed by someone who really knows AC systems. Is the electric fan in the front (behind the bumper) working when the AC is on high?
