I fully agree, but 99% of the time you're not using it as a map, it's just "on", so if it's just "on" why bother with crapview?

I accept your argument my friend, but in all the time I've had the nav it's not something I've ever needed to use it for.
I know they are not popular in the US (i was over there driving a few years ago) but here in the UK and Europe we have road/street signs at both ends of the road/street, so if we need the road/street name, we just look up.
If that was the need I'd turn on 2d find what i needed then turn on 3d, it's like 2 pushes and a twist.
