i had the same problem at first. the only way it would go down was if i beat the hell outta the side that stayed up from the outside. eventually neither side would go down on the smaller sunroof portion. the most cost effective solution for me was to use a t25 (i think) torx screwdriver and take out the 2 screws that hold the thing up. im not very technical and i know its hard to see, but there are ramps on either side of the smaller roof with torx screws in them. remove the screws and slide the ramps toward the front of the vehicle and the smaller roof should fall to the closed position. once you take them out the smaller roof will not function anymore, but imo, it was useless anyway. you will still be able to use the larger sunroof normally. i hope this helps
