Craig is correct. As long as you're the original owner, you can still wait to purchase the extended warranty before the original warranty expires. You have 2 options: No charge schedule maintenance warranty or regular warranty. The no charge option is the same as the original warranty , but it is more expensive. You can get a quote in 5 minutes by calling the dealership where you bought the car. Prices vary depending on the stealer's mark-up and any promotions that may be in effect at the time of your call. My recommendation is to wait until about 2-3 months before your regular warranty expires and call all BMW dealerships in your Area. Therefore you have time to shop for the best deal and know for sure if you wanna the extended warranty or not. Please also remember that extended warranty are fully refundable i.e. you can still get back your money back (pro-rated of course) if you do not transfer it to the next owner.
