Unit is MKIV with 4-1/12 software.

I agree with Jochen, update the OS, this should fix the problem, 4-1/12 is to old to read newer discs.
BTW you need to burn an OS image onto the cd, not just copy the IMAGE.CCD onto a blank cd, the nav unit won't recognise the ccd file.
Use imgburn to "open" the ccd image and then burn onto the blank.
