Thanks for posting your experience. I have only experience at one BMW dealership with the X5. Excellent service and I though it was the norm.
The service advisor takes down every issue and gives you a copy. What continues to impress me, is the mechanic/technician writes down everything he did to resolve the issue and you get a copy when the work is done. Like I mentioned a tranny groan at low speed, he responds "Took the vehicle, up xxx street, started slow, drove up xxx hill, started fast, etc, etc". At least it gives you confidence they adequately addressed the issue.
They provide transport and always wash and vacuum. I assume that was done by all dealers? (But no wonder their service rates are so high.)
