I think carbon black is the one that looks blue, like the old M5s etc. My X is the saffire black metallic, just a light silver-ish flake that helps bring out the lines.
But the only reservation I would have on the silver is the fact that the body is mono-colored on the M///, though it looks awesome on the 4.8 sport with the black bumper trim!
