My 2001 4.4 had DSC, ABS, Check Engine warning lights on and got into Fail-Safe-Mode. I searched the forum and found that it could be ABS module (i.e. EBCD mentioned on this website:
ModuleMaster rebuilds ABS modules for as low as $100, 2 day average turn-around, 5 Year Guarantee). I took the module off by following the steps on the web site, and shipped it to ModuleMaster as recommended by a forum member. Without the module, DSC, ABS, Check Engine Light remained on, but the car never entered into Fail-Safe-Mode. Got the re-built module back after a week. Put the module on, turned on the car, DSC, ABS warning lights were gone. After 40 miles or so, check-engine warning was gone, too. It has been 2 weeks and the car still runs great, no warning lights. I am not sure whether yours having the same problem as mine, but I was not sure when I set it to them. They claimed if the module was not the problem, all you have to pay is the cost of shipping it back to you. I thought that it was worth trying.
