Not taking anything away from the 4.8i but to each his own...besides, it's all in the eyes of the beholder...i still get the same compliments that i did 4+ years ago. The "iS" models look aggressive stock, one doesn't have to spend thousands on kits to make it look more aggressive. IMO, i'd rather have a vehicle that can actually perform rather than look like it can. The OP mentioned that driving a 4.6iS left a lasting impression on him for a reason...and a 4.8iS would be icing on the cake
My point was that dealers recognize the value of the "iS" models, so they're asking for more than even the first year E70 4.8i.
