Hmm these error code things are interesting. I came up with a solution but it is not pretty.

I found if I connect a 7W filament of an 1157 bulb to the low beam head light circuit (by itself) the error goes away and the light works fine. If I connect a relay to the circuit by itself I still get the warning and I can feel the relay clicking on and off.

If I connect both the relay and the 7W light in parallel all is good with the world, no errors, no flickering. If I connect 7W light and ballast in parallel I get the flickering back in the xenon.

Soooo....if I connect the relay and the 7W light and then use the contacts on the relay to pass through a separate 12VDC to the ballast...everything is good, no errors, no flickering in the light or relay. This for now is my solution.

I am wondering if these magical little error code boxes would do the trick. I wish I knew what the electrical components are in there. From what I gather the computer is looking for a line resistance. I think I could accomplish the same thing as the 7W light with a power resistor or something.

Anyone have any other thoughts....other than the damn BMW LCM is to smart for it's own good.
