I am not personally interested in the CTS-V, but thanks. I do like other brands, I just happen to prefer BMW over the others. I also never said that other manufacturers didn't make nice cars, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. I do completely agree that competition is a good thing as we will all probably see when the new M5 debuts. I gave the Caddy credit in my first post in this thread when I said "Enjoy it while you can Caddy". If the CTS-V wasn't strong, direct competition, I wouldn't have said anything. It is common knowledge that it is the sedan to beat at the moment.
At the end of the day, this is a BMW board, so I am not going to apologize for having loyalty to the brand. Every time I have been interested in another brand of car and I have test driven it, I have come away with the feeling that it was missing something that I could get in a comparably priced BMW. That is just me personally though and that is where I am coming from. The M5 and the CTS-V go about their business in two different ways and I happen to prefer the M5. That's it. Perhaps you don't feel that way and that is fine by me. For instance, why do you have loyalty to Ferrari instead of other brands?
Maybe you didn't do enough research upfront before you bought your M5 and you didn't realize what M motors/cars were all about and that is why you were dissapointed with the tourqless, slow, horrible sounding motor.
Look, we are never going to agree. You have stated it many times that the M5 is garbage and I think it is a pretty sweet car. Not much else to say really.
