Yes, it's a programmable feature whether you have an alarm or not. In addition to the visual indication that you've locked the doors by the flash of the lights and side markers, the clown nose also flashes intermittently. It gives the impression that you have an alrm, when in fact you may not. If you DO have an alarm, you may also have an audible chirp to indicate you have armed/disarmed it.
