My 2004 works the same way...Push the roundel button once to lock and arm the alarm. Push twice to disable the interior sensor as described in the aforementioned owner's manual. This also applies locking the car via the keyhole. Therefore, the alarm will always armed with locking the car. So, I'm still not sure how one can lock the door without arming the alarm other than having the dealer do a re-program, which my dealer is still claiming that it cannot be done (re-program to lock the car via keyhole without arming the alarm).
