Cash for clunkers won't work on the X5; must have a retail value of less than $45K USD. Also, the $4500 credit is in lieu of the trade in value that the dealer would pay you for your car - so unless the value of your trade is less than $4500 it doesn't make sense. Neat idea, but I don't see this program applying for very many people.
