I only went in thru the rear of the X becasue of how i've parked it on our really short driveway to do it, my charger uses croc-clips too.

I've left the charger and everything in the trunk (boot for UK folk), and just have an extension cord trailing over the top of the closed tailgate whilest the upper hatch (glass part) rests close on top of the cord, cord then trails into the garage, garage roller-door shut closed over the cord.

I was only a little concearned about leaving the battery installed whilst charging (which i have done) incase i popped any fuses or upset any systems.
