i dont think i would fit in an x1 first off . ( im 6ft1 ) my sister owns a 3 series and that is way to small. The few times she has given me a ride i always fear i am going to be paralyzed if she hits a bump or fall into one of our famous potholes here because
my head hits the roof just sitting in it. to me the people wanting to go small and drive around the world using fairy dust are the people who cant afford to keep it big. i wasnt going to the size chart with my first post i was just going by design\looks. ( not saying anything about your personal income either)

Everyone's sales are down at the moment. Look at the stats over the past three years.
Not sure if I will fit in an X1 (I am 6'4"). I fit fine in our current X3, unlike the E70 (based on headroom). I fit OK in the E90, and was just fine with our E46 (special-ordered without a sunroof).
You seem to have a strong attachment to "big is good, small is cheap" I would rather have a well-engineered small vehicle with good performance, than a large vehicle with lesser performance (weight being the enemy). I am a fan of the Colin Chapman school of design, which has as a principle that you design in lightness.
Think about the X3, which weighs significantly less than an X5, but has 260 hp and a 6 speed manual. The X1 will have the same power, less weight, and is reported to handle very well in the first test drives. Doesn't sound like fairy dust to me.
Maybe you should check out the F650 thread we had going earlier.
