When I did mine, X-pipe didn't cross my mind and I went with straight pipe/small resonators. The sound from inside the cabin is good, but you can hear the exhaust pulses left/right/left/right from behind the truck. The x-pipe will smooth out the sound/tone from the exhaust and the equalization of exhaust pressures will help too.
