Are you blindly reprogramming the car without any clue as to what bit and what byte of what memory location controls what function?

That is very dangerous!

You could upset the vehicle programming and make all sorts of things not work

You approach is similar to trying to change functions in the Windows system registry by using a hex editor to edit random bytes in random files of the PC's hard disc.
