BMW is having a hard time moving the new 2009 BMW 335d and the X5 xDrive35d out of the showroom. So when the government announced its new $4,500 Car Allowance Rebate Systems program (CARS), aka ‘Cash for Clunkers,’ BMW was inspired to begin an incentive program of our own.
“
Now through August 31, BMW will give you a $4,500 Eco Credit toward your purchase of a 335d or an X5 xDrive35d - the most fuel-efficient vehicles in their class,” BMW said in a statement.
BMW said that buyers will also receive a “$900 tax credit on the 335d and
$1,800 on the X5 xDrive35d and like any BMW, both diesel vehicles come with 4 years/50,000 miles of zero-cost maintenance.”
The 2009 BMW 335d and the X5 xDrive35d SUV are both available at BMW dealerships across all 50 states with pricing starting at $44,725 and $52,025 respectively. Both models are powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel that produces 265-hp and 425 lb-ft of torque.
