You could always look and see if your local community college or technical school has classes on car repair. Otherwise, I am not sure.
Once again, look at the homepage for articles on simple routine maintenance such as oil changes, air filter, spark plugs, micro-filter, jacking the X properly and other simple items. With the detailed instructions provided by some of the members here, those things should be simple. Even for beginners.
As far as driving is concerned, fast acceleration and high RPM gear changes from every light are not great for the car, but it sure is fun.
