I have the sx200is. It's a great second/travel camera when you just don't want to lug a DSLR around. However, it's no substitute for having a DSLR and I wish it had a PC sync port. At least it has creative and manual modes along with the standard P&S modes. The HD video is quite good but the zoom is digital only when shooting movies so I always shoot on wide. It's a good buy with the recent price drop if you are only considering compacts.
