The X5 will beep when the temp drops to 37 F or 3C...This is to alert you that the road might be icy at this temp. as soon as you start driving away! Unfortunately there is no way to de-activate this feature on the X5 even with reprogramming at the dealer. It can however be activated/deactivated on some other models like the 5 series I believe.
