It was actually very easy. The only tricky part was cutting the face off of the Smart Cord. I did that with a little coping saw. Then I sanded it to make it smooth. It is only a $30 part, so the risk is very small if you screw it up. Ditto for the steering wheel trim. It is a cheap part so you can just replace it of you screw up.
