if you have the "sport" option, then the swap from the stock sport steering wheel is relatively simple (and described for DIY elsewhere on this website) - I believe both the M3 and M5 steering wheels will fit the X5 (I mounted an M5 on mine) - both wheels are slightly smaller diameter than the stock wheel - the only difference between the M3 wheel and the M5 wheel is the M3 wheel has red,white,blue stitching, while the M5 is black.

list price is around $540.00, but as noted previously, you can get it discounted for $420-$440.
