Here is the failed F Clutch Piston Seal



Note the rounded edges, these should be almost flat/sharp



This is what it should look like.



The inner seal is blown too.





It caused the friction material in the F Clutch pack to wear and also warped
the discs. The rest of the friction material was basically like new.



There is 176,000km on my 2001 4.4 X5 with the ZF Transmission, I've been pretty abusive to my vehicle and haven't babied the transmission much at all, other than changing the trans fluid...
