Actually, we do agree, that is what I was saying. I commented that the standard in-camera settings may not match what people are used to with their point and shoot cameras, but that by tuning the in-camera settings, a DSLR will give excellent results (you just can't skip the step of setting it up). I wasn't referring to post-processing.

The DSLR won't work better taking snapshots as a point and shoot because it is bigger and heavier; that isn't about the image quality but rather the convenience.
