Hi All,

After reading this threat many a times, I decide to build my own Essam Box for the X5.

I am thinking of applying a good coat of polyurethane to seal the box, and then glue black carpeting to the exterior.

I decided to go with the Pioneer TS-SW2501S4 10" Sub which has the same specs as the one recommened on this thread, but bumps the watts to 300rms. I am coupling this with the Alpine MRP-500 Amp. Seems like a good match.

Has anyone else used a 300Watt sub in this box?

I am also planning/trying to install the amp on the front/lower part of the box, below the sub, as there seems to be enough room for it there. Or I will try to fit it under the spare tire, in the compartment where the radio module also resides, hopefully it will not get too hot in there. i just dont have the room on the compartment on the left side of the car. I have way toom much there (Nav Comp, CD Changer, Intravee II, Alpine Ai-net switch, Alpine Ipod Adapter, Nav-tools Video Module, and WD TV unit with a 500GB Drive) So, no room, lol.

I am planning to spray some Cascade VB-1S PRO Quiet Kote Damping Spray on the interior of the box, and/or use some damping fiber fill. Anyone use any of these or similar products with good results?

Cant wait to put this all together and try it out, my thanks to Essam for starting this project and sharing his results.
