Just dont undersize your tire on the wheel and you shouldn't have a harsh ride. I swapped on 22" wheels running 285/35/R22 tires all around and actually felt the ride improved over the factory wheel setup.

As the tire wears down, expect them to be a tad bit noisy. You should get your wheels aligned after you swap wheels if you're going to run a +3 fitment or larger. Summer tires will be noisier than all season tires in general, but you sacrifice performance in terms of grip to the road. In some wheel sizes, there might only be low profile and performance oriented tires available for your fitment so be sure to select your wheel/tire setup accordingly.
