i would never buy a used X5 without CPO. Way too many issues that needed fixing. The premium for CPO on our 2005 e53 has been paid many times over in the last 3 yrs we've owned it. When this car hits 100k, it's gone. Its a great car, we love it but the number of issues even on the 3.0 I6 has been high. My 540i/6 on the other hand even with the v8 has been much more reliable.
