I am pressed for time too...But I rented a car for a week for $218 (a monthly rental is $500 for the same intermediate car). I would NOT consider me patient, but you CAN make a bad choice easily with these cars.

I spoke to my BMW service rep (long time friend - I owned a couple of M3's)...He told me of VARIOUS high dollar repairs that a lot of these cars may see. This is NOT the dealer that I am buying from so no sales tactics here.

In my opinion, too many miles...LOVE the choice (4.8is), but I was "scared straight" into knowing that I was buying low mileage...Either with a CPO, OR the $3-4K for the aftermarket warranty. Not sure if that one qualifies.

Could be a good car, but I would EXPECT to spend a few thousand of the next couple of years. Air bag suspension issues, oil seals that fail, AC issues, brakes, etc. EXPENSIVE repairs.

Good luck with what you do, but I would either pay the premium for a lower mileage 4.8is OR a cheaper 4.4i (06' examples for around that price with 1/2 the miles).
