hi all, last night i'd the unfortunate experience of seeing a smashed window in my own car after we returned from dinner in manhattan, it was parked near 3rd ave & 29th st which is a pretty busy intersection. the only thing missing was the gps on the dashboard, everything else in the car (my phone -htc touch pro and wife's iphone, portable hard drive etc) was untouched - very very strange, must be someone desperate to get home and took the gps
also, my phone was on the seat, the person who did this put the phone in the center console
anyways, we cleaned up the glass from the seat and floor, took almost 1/2 hr to wipe the fine dust off and remove all the hundreds of glass pieces... and drove home. didnt call the cops or anything since my insurance is $500 deductible. does anyone know how much the dealer will charge to replace the glass? i don't know if i can replace it myself although i could try, i'd replaced car speakers in a 740il before, so removing the door panel is not new to me.
