I have a 2006 X5 3.0 that I got last month. It had 26,400mi. Someone traded it in at a Lexus dealership, and it was a CPO before that.

It has a little over a year left under the original maintenance and and then the additional CPO warranty.

I took it in and it just had the Inspection I done. They checked the brakes and the front pads are at 10mm, and the rear at 8mm. Which I thought was odd, but I don't know what was done when in the past.

I've searched on here the best I can tell, they should be more than 3mm (or as little as 1mm).

So my question is, how thick are they "new" ? Ideally I'd like BMW to replace them before the maintenance is up, if they are going to wear out soon. Or are these nearly new as it is? I'm just trying to judge how fast they wear out and where I'm at.
