I'm coming into this late and just started researching so I too have many questions. One of which is that everyone keeps mentioning that the new CIC is HD based. Do the CCC systems use a HD or only the new CIC? I'm asking b/c sometimes when I start the truck, and the Nav is booting, I know I hear a HD accessing.

Did the X5 have a hybrid system starting in 04/08? I ask b/c I am reading the 2010 X5s will still use the current low res screen w/the new CIC controller and Nav software?

BTW, thanks for previously summarizing for everyone. You could have saved me a couple hours of my life.
