Thanks for your good wishes and advice. I had already seen this part of the site but couldn't figure out which of the articles relate to my situation. Bearing in mind that the original phone/mic and voice command system came with the car when new, could you point me in the right direction! I thought the article from UCrewX5 might be the right one but I'm not sure if he (Jeff?) had a factory fitted phone in his 2001.

Could you advise on some of the terminology please? What is a ULF. What and where is the DB25 phone connection. I've only had this wonderful machine for a few months and, as you can probably tell, I'm not that technically minded.
