Just tried to post a reply and it went into cyberspace. That was not the intent of my post. Sure, when you learn to drive in Germany, or any other western European or Scandinavian country, it is much more difficult to get a license, and many people (including yours truly) flunk the test the first time or two. But I was being sarcastic in my remarks about untrained drivers, etc. Most people in the US never have to really learn how to drive a car properly before they earn their license. No, you don't have to learn to drive in Germany or Austria, France, Finland, etc. to get a license. But we should certainly require anyone wanting to earn the right to drive to show more advanced driving skills. Most BMW drivers are very good, probably because they know that their vehicles are superior. But some are not, which is one of the reasons why so many non-BMW drivers call all of us arrogant and stupid. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I was simply attempting a bit of black humor.
