True...however, octo-mom got a documentary about her aired on a major network, along with several interviews that i'm sure compensated her. Even if it wasn't picked up as a series, she was paid a considerable amount. Unfortunately, there's always an audience for that type of on-air train wreck.
*Edit: A UK production company is filming and airing in the UK as a docu-series (a fancier name for reality tv). They're hoping it gets picked up for domestic syndication, which wouldn't surprise me.
