I personally enjoy the brighter pictures on LCD's and LED's, but that's just me.
As for your burnt pixel issue, I was able to download a program that cycles colors in a little 4x4 pixel box that you leave running until the pixel unlocks itself from being stuck in one color. Happened on my laptop, fixed it right up. Just Google how to fix burnt/stuck pixels. This same technique can be applied to LCD TV's when a laptop is used as the video input.
