Not an expert here but, you can fit non staggered tires on staggered rims.

Mine is that way and I asked this question here last year. I have 255-50-19's all the way around, but my rear rims are bigger and would accept the OEM 285-45-19's. The rims are all marked, I have checked. It is not uncommon to run the 255-50-19's all the way around.

It's the way it was when I bought it, rides fine, when it is time for new summer tires I will probably go to the staggered set up.
