Well after dumping $2500 in repairs over the past week on my 2001 4.4 X5 it died on my way to work this morning. Long story short the Engine Failsafe light came on and it stalled when I was idling. The car starts and will rev fine it just stalls out when you take your foot off the gas. The mechanic towed it back to the shop and put it on the scanner and it came up with a faulty MAF - can this really be happening? The thing was running fine before I had the intake gasket replaced. I am sick to my stomach at the moment. Between the transmission being replaced, Calipers, valve cover gaskets and other repairs I have shelled out 9K in repairs, 3K in maintenance(snow and summer tires), and 4K in mods over the past 12 months.
