It was very bad of her to limp it home, so not to sound negative, but lets hope that didn't cause anything bad. You never mentioned how the belt looks...missing ribs, chunks, etc? The fan clutch shouldn't have any movement at all, so maybe that "transformer" noise was more like a jet taking off from the fan clutch seizing up, then throwing the belt due to all the force from the fan spinning around. It turns, but you need to check it with the belt on to make sure the clutch hasn't failed.
