There are really only a few places on the rear diff that can leak gear oil... the more common would be the output shaft seals, less common would be the input shaft seal, and almost never leaks would be the rear cover.

Just look under there and see where on the rear diff is wet looking and call around for estimates. Shouldn't be too expensive at all.
