thanks crazy4cars, the type of wattage drawn by the LEDS seems to solve the flickering problem of the rear passenger lights and the centre console light.

I experimented last night and it seems that LEDS with a wattage of 2 and higher solves the flickering problem.

Did an old trick with the plate lights. Replaced both with LEDS and connected a normal bulb to one of the bulb holders. This seemed to solve the "lights out" problem and act as an resistor. Tucked it away as there is plent of space inside the rear hatch. looking good
