I beg to differ JV, the seal on the original windshield on my E46 M3 was actually pretty bad. The replacement windshield after I cracked it was so much better. It's really not that difficult of a task. I was there when they replaced the windshield and the guys at my dealership did an awesome job.

I am quoting directly from the mouth of an auto glass repairer/installer with 25 years experience who fixed a chip in my windshield and replaced the windshield in a previous car I owned. Both vehicles were less than 4 years old when he did the work, maybe he was referring to newer models, but he explained it to me exactly that way.
