First of all Vienna is a very lovely city. Just walking in the city center is a wonderfull experience. There many things to see. The Opera of Vienna is one of the most famous in the world. If you ever have the opportunity to go to a concert do not miss it. However I think you need to reserve in advance. Amoung other things I saw: the Belveder Palace with its paint gallery and its wonderfull gardens, the imperial palace, Art and Natural history museums, Votive Church (wonderfull), etc... However I would guess that at that time of the year walking downtown may not be that pleasant. Expect low temperature and some snow but since you are from Canada you should be able to deal with that Most restauranst are great but it has been a long time and I do not remember names. Enjoy the trip
