Update - bad news on the topic.
Dealership has had the car for about a week now. They've left the car overnight multiple times and can't "duplicate" the issue. I know it hasn't been too cold here, as both instances of the CEL/shaking has been on cold start after mid teen's temperatures.
Unfortunately, both times have been with multiple people in the car, including the wife, and lets just say it's been embarrasing.
SA says the bulletin does not include my VIN# for the service bulletin, so I don't know where to go on this. I printed and gave him the SIB from this site - but he states I'm not within the bulletin. I attached the SIB below.
I've complained about the car in the past about cold start, as the whole time from start to normal engine temp, any acceleration almost sounds like piston slapping - sounds horrible, like my old 180K mile 97 expedition.
SA wants me to go into the dealership tomorrow and start the car in the morning after having it sit out. Anything else I can do/discuss to have this looked at further?
BTW it's also in for the self suspension inactive error, which they attempted to fix a few months back by resetting the factory values on height, but it still goes off randomly - now they state there's nothing else they can do.
May have to unload this car if all the dealership can do is shrug their shoulders as I cross my fingers not to have the car throw error lights. Killcrap - anything else I can do to have them at least look at the car to make sure the levers are ok? I guess after talking with the techs (whom i've known for quite some time), BMWUSA has reduced labor units for warranty work, which makes it harder to diagnose issues.
